Breaking: Josef Fritzl is writing tell-all memoir

Posted by Sable on July 6, 2008

Well, well, well.  I am sure your fingers are tripping over each other, trying to write your comments on this one.

It will be interesting to see if Elisabeth’s lawyers head to court to stop this story from being sold by Fritzl, or having him involved in any other attempts to make some money off of this tragedy.

Dungeon monster Josef Fritzl is writing his memoirs in prison – to the horror of the daughter he held captive and raped.

Elisabeth, 42, who gave birth to seven children, is aghast at the thought of the world reading 74-year-old Fritzl’s account of her 24-year or deal in Amstetten, Austria, which he plans to sell to the highest bidder.

Frizl spends hours writing as fellow prisoners shout “Come out Satan – we want to play”.

A source said: “Elisabeth is appalled. It is like being violated all over again. He knows his story is worth a lot because she has made it clear she does not want to sell hers.”

In the US lawyers sue such people precisely so they cannot make money off their stories, or so that the victim gets any money made. Does Austria have anything like this? Probably not, since Europe is so soft on crime and treats prisoners like hotel guests.

The Austrian legislature needs to convene an emergency session NOW and pass a “Son of Sam law” to STOP this!! Probably won’t happen, though. After all, poor Josef had a bad childhood, BOO HOO!

Surely this man knows how much he is hated even by his fellow prisoners? He would be torn to pieces in the outside world.Does he know nothing of repentence before God,that does not include selling his story to the highest bidder?

Elisabeth Fritzl,my prayers are for you and your family in the light of this latest terrible assault from Josef Fritzl. You are under great pressure;this man is an evil beyond comparison. The world may never see your photograph, and that would be better. You need to be left alone.

I have not, up to now, been especially interested in most blogs. However, in doing searches for my hubby re: the Fritzls, I came across your blog. I find it absolutely fascinating. I am hoping to read as many entries as possible, over time. I just wanted to thank you for your rich and in depth coverage of issues that many would find distasteful or unpleasant. Having been raped myself when I was younger, I can only hurt with and pray for Elisabeth and her long suffering family. Please keep up your wonderful coverage of so much that is important.

If you recall, there was earlier talk of Elisabeth suing the creep. Not only did she deserve the money, it was pretty generally agreed, but it is diminishingly unlikely that she or the underground children will ever be able to work in the world and will require medical care for life. Their needs for shelter and care will be very specialized and costly.

Then we learned that there is no equity in any of his many properties, that they are worthless to his estate. He f*cked her again by making her penniless as well as incapable of supporting herself. In the process, of course, he has left his wife and the other three children nothing for her support or their education.

There is a general revulsion among us readers against his publishing his memoirs of the 24 years. We might presume that Elisabeth would feel violated. At the same time, she has not been a part of the world where it is to be distributed for a very long time, and will not really be again. In addition, she has shown herself to be a strong and practical woman. It can be presumed that proceeds of such a book (which would, of course, bring in enormous sums of money) will go not to him but to his dependents, his victims, and his creditors. If the decision is put to Elisabeth, I don’t know that her choice would be an unequivocal no.

I find it incredible that Fritzl is allowed to continue to hurt Elisabeth even behind bars. He should not be allowed any privileges, including access to pen and paper. I honestly think the man deserves nothing but pain and suffering for the rest of his life.
I can just imagine him, sitting back on his bed, looking out his cell window or watching TV and putting pen to paper. He should be in solitary confinement, with nothing to do but think about what he’s done to his so called family.

Before this all came down,I had no idea who Robbie Williams was. Now,I see that I have been missing something.Robbie Williams has gained fantasticly by the criminal acts of Josef Fritzl;does he not,in a sence, owe at least a debt of gratitude to Kerstin Fritzl,if not a personal visit ?Or a personal concert?

I should be more percise.Kerstin Fritzl lay in induced coma for a month in hospital, and woke up nearly dancing to Robbie Williams. He sings very well.I do hope she meets him.It would add to her recovery,I think.

    Thomas,
Robbie Williams is, for the moment, retired from the public eye and living in LA, he says he’s unlikely to give a concert anytime soon and is enjoying being away from the pressures of performing.
RW had made enough money from his music career to last him a lifetime many time over, even before the Fritzl story became public. It’s true that many people had never heard to RW before Kerstin danced to his music in hospital (especially in North America), but that doesn’t mean he has “gained fantastically” from the story, that’s going over the top!
If RW helped her wake up from the coma perhaps she’s the one who owes his a debt of greatitude. ;-)
Anyway, back to Fritzl: If he writes his memoirs, couldn’t they be used as evidence during trial?

You’re right, Marge. I knew who RW was and didn’t like his music. Now, I still don’t like his music.

I find it really nice that KF does, anyway, and that she could listen, enjoy and dance to his music. But I would find it nice with any music.

I understand the anger about Fritzl – I am incredulous at the sheer intensity of evil over such a long period of time exhibited by him, the utter self absorbtion is extraordinary to say the least. That he is an aberration of a human being – I think – is without doubt, the word evil to describe people like him is inadequate because it presumes a Good to counterbalance. To religious people this seems fair enough but to the vast majority who have no religious zeal – this description is meaningless.
Fritzl is a narcissistic sociopath, he is not insane (in my and many other qualified doctors analysis of similar cases). It is upto society to deal with aberrations like him – not just give him 10 years and let him sell his book (he would be out in 5/6 years a millionaire – he would defineately without question seek out Elisabeth and her family and harrass them for the rest of his life. He will never stop because he has dedicated his life to the sickness within him and he has accepted his pervertions as normal. He is probably angry at Elisabeth for breaking her word and telling the police at the first opportunity what he had done – typical sociopathic attitude of blaming others for his current predicament in prison.
Fritzl should be locked up for the rest of his life and refused any priveleges including writing paper – the austrian parliament should pass similar laws as in this country to stop prisoners profiting from their crimes. Isnt is bizarre how terrorists and assorted criminals in UK can get away with anything as laws are in place to protect their “human rights” (sic) – helped by the likes of Liberty and chakravarti but victims have no protection.
